Connect A Garmin Vivoactive Device With A Smartphone

You should pair your Vivoactive device with your smartphone using the Garmin Connect Mobile app to maximize its usage. This enables you to download software updates, analyze and share data, while additional Connect IQ features can also be downloaded from Garmin and other suppliers. Pairing your smartphone also lets you view calendar events and notifications.

Note: Your Vivoactive device can only be paired using Garmin Connect Mobile app opposed to other Bluetooth devices which paired from your smartphone’s Bluetooth settings.

  1. Open garminconnect.com/vivoactive in your mobile browser.
  2. Download and install the app following the instructions on the display.
  3. Launch the Garmin Connect Mobile app.
  4. Choose an option:
  • To connect your smartphone with your device, follow the instructions on the display throughout the initial setup.
  • If you skipped pairing your smartphone with your device in the initial setup, press the action button on Vivoactive, go to Settings > Bluetooth.
  1. Choose an option for adding your device to the Garmin Connect account:
  • Follow the instructions on the display if you are pairing a device with the Garmin Connect Mobile app for the first time.
  • If this is not the first device and other devices are already paired with Garmin Connect Mobile app, tap on the ‘triple lines’ icon in the Garmin Connect Mobile app then select Garmin Devices > tap on the ‘+’ icon and follow the instructions on the display.
